Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard that is used for transmitting data over short distances. This standard is widespread and used by a lot of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, headsets, media players, game consoles, etc. The name comes from Harald Bluetooth, a Danish king from the last period of the 10th century.

Advantages

  • It is very easy to use and the connections are made almost automatically
  • There is little chance that interferences will occur, even if there are many devices around who use it

Disadvantages

  • The speed is not impressive
  • The security isn’t as good as other wireless technologies
  • The device’s battery life will drop considerably if Bluetooth is always on
  • It has a low range compared to other wireless technologies
