Complete development team Monthly retainer

End-to-End Development Team

Get a complete development team without the cost and overhead of building one in-house. We run it as an ongoing function on a monthly retainer: you set the business priorities, and our developers, QA, and technical project manager plan, build, and deliver on a steady, predictable cadence.

When This Makes Sense

An end-to-end development team works best when you need continuous, structured software delivery and want a partner to run the development function instead of building a department in-house.

01

You need continuous development without building a department to run it.

Recruiting, managing, and retaining a full development team takes significant time, expertise, and overhead. You'd rather invest that energy into your product and business while a reliable partner handles the engineering side.

02

You want predictable costs and a clear delivery rhythm.

Budgets get approved monthly or quarterly. Leadership wants to know what development costs and what it produces. You need a model where spending is stable and delivery follows a clear, repeatable cadence, even as the specific work changes.

03

Features, fixes, and improvements need to happen in parallel.

Most products require multiple workstreams running at the same time. New functionality, bug fixes, infrastructure improvements, and maintenance all compete for attention. You need a team built to handle that complexity and keep every workstream moving.

04

You want one team and one point of accountability.

Managing multiple vendors, freelancers, or agencies means juggling different processes, communication styles, and quality standards. A single team with a single project manager and a shared way of working keeps things simple, consistent, and easy to manage.

How It Works

01
Setup

Set up your complete development team.

We set up and manage a complete development team for your product. This includes developers, QA, and a project manager who owns planning, coordination, and delivery. You're involved in setting priorities and reviewing progress, but the day-to-day management is on us.

02
Team

Bring in a team that already works together.

Our developers come to your project having worked together across multiple engagements. They share established practices and a way of working that's already in sync, so you get a team that performs like a team from day one.

03
Skills

Match the right skills to every task.

Your team covers the full range your product needs: frontend, backend, architecture, QA, and more. As priorities shift across the roadmap, your project manager directs the right people to the right work, so each part is handled by someone with real depth and the whole effort stays coordinated.

04
Cadence

Run a structured delivery cadence.

Work moves forward in regular cycles. You get consistent planning sessions, frequent demos, and predictable releases. Stakeholders can make commitments to customers and boards because they know when software ships.

05
Context

Build deeper product knowledge over time.

Because this is an ongoing relationship, your team builds deep knowledge of your product, your domain, and your users. Month six is far more productive than month one. That accumulated context is one of the real advantages of the end-to-end model.

How Our Project Managers Think

Every project manager came up writing code. Here's how that shapes the way they run your delivery.

"I put a lot of emphasis on communication and transparency. Remote teams can work extremely well, but only if information flows freely and problems are raised early. I want the client to understand where we are, why we're making certain decisions, and what risks we see. That's how you build trust over time."

"I want our clients to understand not only what we are doing, but why we are doing it, what trade-offs are involved, and where we see potential risks. My role is to bridge the gap between business and technology, make sure problems are addressed at their root cause, and help the team deliver solutions that remain reliable well beyond the immediate requirement."

Common Questions

How quickly can we get started?

Usually within 1 to 2 weeks of signing the contract. We've already scoped your needs by that point, so we move straight to assigning your technical project manager and assembling your team.

Where are you based?

Our development team is based in Bucharest, Romania, and we have a sales office in Amsterdam. Bucharest sits in the Eastern European time zone, so you get full working-hour overlap with the rest of Europe and overlap with US East Coast mornings. We schedule calls and reviews around your hours, wherever you're based.

How experienced are your developers?

Most of our developers are mid to senior level, with the average developer staying at SBP for over four years. That tenure matters: you get people who've shipped production software across many projects and industries, not juniors learning on your time.

How do you select who works on our project?

We match people to your project based on the technologies, domain, and stage of work involved. Every developer has come through our own hiring and review process, so the vetting is done long before they reach your project. As the work shifts, your technical project manager adjusts who's involved so the skills on the team keep matching what the project actually needs.

How do we communicate and stay aligned?

Your project manager is your single point of contact. Most clients prefer regular calls and async updates via Slack or email, but we adapt to how you work. You'll also get progress reports and deliverable reviews.

How do you handle IP and confidentiality?

We sign NDAs as standard practice. All work product belongs to you. Our ISO/IEC 27001 certification means information security is managed through a formal, audited framework.

Can we start small and grow?

Yes, and most clients do. Start with a small engagement, evaluate the fit and output, and expand from there.

What if something isn't working?

We address it quickly. Whether it's quality, pace, or communication, we work with you to resolve it. The goal is a partnership that delivers, and we take responsibility for making that happen.

What if our priorities change mid-month?

That's expected. Your project manager works with you to reprioritize as needed. The retainer gives you flexibility in how hours are allocated, so shifting focus doesn't mean renegotiating a contract.

What's the difference between this and your augmentation service?

With an end-to-end team, we take full responsibility for running the development function, including planning, architecture, delivery cadence, and team management. With augmentation, you're adding development capacity to supplement your existing team or fill specific gaps. You set the direction, and we deliver the work. The right model depends on how much of the development process you want to own versus delegate.
